Fingerprint registration is required for legally staying and working in the State of Qatar. Whether you are a Qatari citizen, GCC citizen or an expatriate resident, you must register your fingerprints to obtain important documents and access various services in Qatar.

When an individual applies for a New Qatar ID, they are required to register their fingerprint from a CEID service center. After registration, the CEID will issue a Fingerprint Card to the applicant that they must attach with the Qatar ID Application Form and other documents as per rules.

Documents Required to Register Fingerprint in Qatar

When you go to register fingerprint to a nearby service center, you must carry the required documents. All your documents must be active and valid when you present them at the fingerprint service center.

Here I provide the list of documents needed for fingerprint registration in Qatar as follows;

• Original Passport and a Copy
• Residency Visa
• Original Qatar ID and/or Residency Permit [Not applicable if applying for a Qatar ID with Residency Permit for first time]
• Two Passport Size Photos [with Blue Background]
• Sponsor’s Passport Copy and Qatar ID Copy
• Recent Medical Report [If Applicable]
• Fingerprint Registration/Application Form [Signed by Applicant and Sponsor]

How to Get Fingerprint Registration Form

The fingerprint registration/application form is available at the Criminal Evidences and Information Department (CEID) service centers. In addition, you can get the fingerprint application form from Qatar MOI web portal by following the steps given below;

1. Go to MOI Portal Residency Permits Inquiry Page.
2. Click on RP Application Tracking & Printing.
3. Enter your Visa Number.
4. Enter Qatar ID Number of the Sponsor or Representative or Authorized Signatory.
5. Enter the Captcha Code and click on Submit button.
6. A New Form will appear on screen.
7. Fill up the fingerprint application form with required details and take print.
8. Get the form signed by you and the Sponsor, paste your passport size photo in the given box on the form.
9. Attach necessary documents when you submit it at the service center.

Where to Go to Register Fingerprint in Qatar

How to Register Fingerprint in Qatar

In order to register your fingerprint easily, you should read and follow the step-by-step process that I am sharing here.

1. Get all required documents ready.
2. Visit a CEID service center that is near your location. You can select one of the 7 service centers given above.
3. Get a token from the reception desk and wait for your turn.
4. When your token number is announced, go to the service desk and provide all required documents.
5. If you already have a filled up fingerprint application form, you can submit it with the documents.
6. If you don’t have it, get the fingerprint application form from the service desk, fill up the form and then submit it with the documents.
7. Follow the instructions of the service employee to register your fingerprints correctly.
8. Pay the service fee as per rules.
9. The service employee will issue a Fingerprint Card to you.
10. Get your original documents back and exit the service center when the fingerprint registration process is over.

Prior Appointment for Fingerprint in Qatar

The companies and business organizations are recommended to get a prior appointment for their employees’ fingerprint registration at a CEID service center. The fingerprint appointment service helps the companies to eliminate waiting period and save time of their employees.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the company is required to contact CEID service center via email or phone number to book the fingerprint appointment for the employees/workers of the company.

NOTE: Fingerprint Appointment for Individuals

The appointment service is made for companies/businesses only. The individuals do not need to book an appointment for fingerprint registration. They can walk-in to any CEID service center in Qatar during its working hours to give their fingerprints and complete the process easily.

Expert Tips to Make Fingerprint Process Easier

The fingerprint process takes only 10 minutes but you must be prepared for it. If you are going to register fingerprint in Qatar for first time, you must check out the expert tips given below to make your fingerprint process easier at the CEID service center.

1. Keep six passport size photos with blue background. You need only two photos for the process but extra copies will be useful if requested by the service employee.
2. Don’t carry blurred photos to avoid rejection. The CEID service center does not accept the fingerprint form with blurred photo(s).
3. Keep your hands clean before you go to the fingerprint registration office. You can wash your hands just before entering the office to give clear and quick fingerprints.
4. Kindly wear a decent dress that covers your body properly. The CEID service center does not allow to enter the people with shorts, ripped trousers and other inappropriate outfits.
