In case your Qatar ID is already expired, you can apply for QID renewal up to 90 days after expiry. The Government of Qatar provides a grace period of 90 days after QID expiry, so you have 90 days before expiry and 90 days after expiry to renew your Qatar ID Card.

• A Copy of Employment Contract or NOC from the Employer/Sponsor

QID Renewal Fee

The Qatar ID Renewal Fee is charged from the applicant to process their QID renewal application. The Government of Qatar charges QID renewal fee based on the applicant category and the QID renewal period/validity.

Note: The Qatari Citizens can renew their QID for free but they are required to apply for Qatar ID renewal online or in-person as per rules.

20% Discount on QID Renewal Fee

The Government of Qatar provides 20% discount on QID renewal fee for family members under the personal sponsorship of their spouse or father/mother or head of the family. Please note that the 20% discount is applicable only if you apply for QID renewal for 3 years and not for 1 year or 2 years.

The Qatar ID Renewal Fee Discount is exclusively for family members of the expatriate workers living in Qatar. This discount is not applicable to any other applicant categories.

Qatar ID Card Delivery Fee

The QID Renewal Fee mentioned above is for the ID card renewal process only. If you want to get your Qatar ID Card delivered by Qatari Post, you need to pay QAR 20 as a delivery fee.

In case you want to save money, you can avoid the ID Card Delivery option during QID Renewal Application. In this situation, you will receive an SMS/email when your ID Card is ready to collect. Thereafter you are required to visit the MOI service center personally to collect your Qatar ID Card.

How to Renew Qatar ID in 2025

There are 3 different ways to apply for Qatar ID renewal in 2025. Out of them, two methods are online and one method is offline. Based on your convenience, you can choose a suitable method to submit your QID renewal application online or in-person.

NOTE:

• If you are under personal sponsorship of your spouse or parent then your sponsor should apply for your Qatar ID renewal.
• If you are an expat worker under the sponsorship of your employer/company then your employer or company’s PRO (public relations officer) should apply for your Qatar ID renewal.
• If you are a student under the sponsorship of a university/institute, the authorized personnel/representative of the university should apply for your Qatar ID renewal.
• If you are a domestic worker under the sponsorship of the house owner, the owner should apply for your Qatar ID renewal.

Renew Qatar ID Online at MOI Portal

The Qatar ID Renewal Online Application is available at MOI website portal. You can follow the steps given here to renew your QID online in Qatar.

1. Go to Qatar MOI E-Services Portal @eservices.moi.gov.qa.
2. Login with your Qatar ID Number and Password.
3. Select Residency Services and click on Renew Residency.
4. Fill up the Qatar ID Renewal Application Form online.
5. Select the QID Renewal Period as 1 year or 2 years or 3 years.
6. Upload required documents and pay the QID Renewal Fee.
7. Select ID Card Delivery by QPost and pay QAR 20 delivery fee. You can leave this option unchecked if you want to collect your QID personally.
8. Submit the QID renewal form online to finish.

Renew Qatar ID Online via Metrash2 App

The Qatar ID renewal application is also available on mobile via Metrash2 app. The applicant can use Metrash2 App on their phone to apply for Qatar ID renew online as follows.

2. Select Residency Services and click on Residency Renewal.
3. Fill up the QID renewal application form with personal information.

6. Select QID Delivery option if you want to receive it by QPost otherwise leave it.
7. Submit the application form to finish the process.

Renew Qatar ID at MOI Service Centers

The Qatar ID Renewal Service is available at all MOI service centers in Qatar. Before you visit the MOI service center, you should keep all needed documents ready.

2. Select Other Inquiries and click on Official Documents.
3. Enter your Qatar ID Number.
4. Enter the Captcha Code and click on Search button.
5. Your Qatar ID Expiry Date will show up on screen.
6. If your ID Card Expiry Date updated, it means that your QID renewal application is processed.
7. If your ID Card Expiry Date is old, it means that your QID renewal application is still under process.

Do I Need to Pay Qatar ID Fine?

No, you do not need to pay Qatar ID Fine if you renew your Qatar ID within 90 days from its expiry date. In case you fail to renew your QID within 90 days from the expiry date, you have to pay the Qatar ID Fine of QAR 10 per day.

The Qatar ID Fine is charged as QAR 10 per day until you apply for QID renewal online or in-person in the State of Qatar.
