Here I provide some simple steps for MOI Qatar traffic violation check online as under;

Step 1: Go to MOI Official Website Portal

Kindly open a web browser and go to Ministry of Interior (MOI) official web portal @portal.moi.gov.qa.

Step 2: Select Inquiries

If MOI portal homepage appears in Arabic, find and click on English option at the top to change the language to English. Thereafter click on Inquiries option to go to MOI Inquiries Page.

Step 3: Select Traffic Inquiries

Here you can see the list of inquiries offered by the Ministry of Interior, you should select Traffic Inquiries to continue.

Step 4: Click on Traffic Violations

Now click on Traffic Violations to open MOI Qatar Traffic Violation Check page.

Step 5: Choose Search By Method

The MOI Qatar allows you to check traffic violations online by four different methods such as;

1. Vehicle Number
2. ID/QID Number
3. Company ID Number
4. Foreign Vehicles.

Step 6: Enter Vehicle Plate Number and Owner QID Number

You should enter the Vehicle Plate Number and also provide Vehicle Owner’s Qatar ID Number in the given boxes. Make sure that your provide both the plate number and QID number correctly.

Step 7: Select Vehicle Type, Enter Captcha Code and Click on Submit

Now select your Vehicle Type e.g. Private Vehicle and then enter the Captcha Code as shown in the picture. After entering all information correctly, click on Submit button to proceed.

Step 8: Check Traffic Violations Info on Screen

All traffic violations on your vehicle will appear on screen. You can check the traffic violations details and the fines amount.

#2. Traffic Violation Check Online through Metrash2 App

The traffic violations Qatar MOI check online service is also available in Metrash2 mobile app. The Ministry of Interior provides all MOI services in the Metrash2 App so that the citizens/residents can access the services from their mobile phone.

Step 1: Open Metrash2 App on your mobile phone.

Step 2: Login with your QID Number and PIN or Password.

Step 5: Choose the search by option, for example: Vehicle Number.

Step 6: Enter your Vehicle Plate Number, QID Number and Captcha Code.

How to Pay Qatar Traffic Fines Online

After checking traffic violations online, you can view the traffic violation report and the fine amount. You have to pay the traffic fines in a certain period to avoid penalty for late payment.

In order to pay traffic fines in Qatar, you do not need to visit the traffic department office or service center, you can settle your traffic fines online from the comfort of your home.

Pay Traffic Fines Online at MOI Portal

Kindly follow the steps given below to pay the traffic fines online at MOI Portal.

1. Go to Qatar MOI Traffic Violation Check Online Page @portal.moi.gov.qa.
2. Click on Traffic Violations and enter your Vehicle Number & QID Number.
3. Enter Captcha Code and click on Submit button.
4. Check your traffic violations and click on Settlement of Violations.
5. Choose a payment method, for example: Credit Card.
6. Enter your credit card details and click on Pay/Continue.
7. Make payment of traffic fines online and save the fine payment receipt.

Pay Traffic Fines Online through Metrash2 App

You can also use Metrash2 App for payment of traffic fines online in Qatar. You must have either an Android phone or iPhone/iPad or Huawei mobile to use Metrash2 mobile app.

1. Open Metrash2 App on your mobile and login.
2. Go to Services>Traffic>Violation Service in the app.
3. Enter your Vehicle Plate Number and relevant details.
4. Submit the details to view your traffic violations & fines.
5. Click on Pay/Settle option and choose the payment method.
6. Make payment of traffic fines online by a credit card or online banking.

How to Pay Traffic Fines Offline

The Government of Qatar also accepts traffic fines payment in-person at the traffic department office and MOI service centers. You can visit a nearby MOI service center or office to pay your traffic fines by cash or other payment method as offered by respective personnel.

How to Appeal Traffic Violation Online

When you check traffic violations online, you may find a list of violations on your vehicle. It is possible that some violations are unfair as per your knowledge and belief. So, you want to oppose such violations but don’t know how to do it.

The Ministry of Interior (MOI), Qatar provides a 14-day window to raise an appeal against an unfair traffic violation. It means that you can appeal a traffic violation online within two weeks of the violation registered in MOI system records and issued to your name/vehicle.

Requirements to Appeal Traffic Violations in Qatar

You must have some key details about a specific traffic violation to appeal it.

• Traffic Ticket Date (Violation Ticket Issue Date)
• Violation Number

Step 1: Open Metrash2 App and login.

Step 2: Select Services section and click on Traffic.

Step 3: Select Violation Service option.

Step 4: Now select Violation Objection option.

Step 5: Select your concerned traffic violation with traffic ticket date and violation number.

Step 6: In Remarks box, explain your point about this unfair violation and provide supporting documents to prove it.

Step 7: Submit your objection against that violation.

Step 8: In next 30 days, you will receive an SMS from traffic department.

Step 9: Read the SMS to know if your violation objection is approved or rejected.

What If My Violation Objection is Approved?

If your violation objection is approved by Qatar Traffic Department, the concerned traffic violation and fine will be cleared from your traffic violation records.

In such a case, you do not need to pay the fine as it was unfair and the respective authority has revoked it.

What If My Violation Objection is Rejected?

If your violation objection is rejected by Qatar Traffic Department then you are liable to pay the traffic fine amount as stated in respective traffic ticket.

You must pay the traffic fine online or in-person as soon as after you received the SMS showing that your violation objection is rejected.

In case you fail to pay the fine in given time, you will face late payment penalty and/or vehicle impound or license suspension like consequences.

Qatar Traffic Violation Objection/Appeal Rules

The Traffic Department accepts violation objections from people for unfair violations with some terms & conditions. Here I provide Qatar traffic violation objection/appeal rules that you must keep in mind before you appeal a violation online.

• You can appeal a traffic violation within 14 days of violation registration date i.e. traffic ticket issue date. After 14 days, you cannot appeal it and you have to pay it.
• You can appeal a traffic violation that is not paid yet. In case you have already paid the traffic fine then you cannot submit an appeal/objection against it.
• After submitting an appeal against a traffic violation, the traffic department will respond with an SMS in 30 days.
• You cannot appeal a traffic violation more than once.
• If your appeal was rejected, you must pay the traffic fine as per rules.
• If your appeal was approved, you do not need to pay the traffic fine and concerned violation will be removed by the traffic department.

Qatar Traffic Fine Payment Deadline

The Qatar traffic department registers the traffic violations conducted by motorists and pedestrians. Thereafter the concerned people can check traffic violations online at MOI portal or via Metrash2 app.

The traffic department gives 60 days to pay the traffic fine from the violation registration date. If you pay the fine in 60 days, there is no late fee/penalty. If you fail to pay the fine in 60 days, you have to pay the late payment penalty.

Qatar Traffic Fine Late Payment Penalty

The Qatar traffic fine late payment penalty is 1 Riyal per day. The penalty will be charged only after 60 days of traffic violation.

For example: You have not paid traffic fine of 100 Riyals in first 60 days. Now it’s been 65 days, you want to pay the fine to settle your account. So, if you pay the traffic fine on 65th day, you have to pay 5 Riyals as Penalty i.e. 1 Riyal per day.

So, the total fine amount will be 105 Riyals including 100 Riyals Fine and 5 Riyals Penalty.

How to Report Traffic Violation Online in Qatar

The violation of any traffic rule is a legal offence in Qatar. Being a responsible citizen/resident, you must follow all traffic rules when driving a car on the roads of Qatar. In addition, you should keep an eye on the road to notice traffic violations by others.

The Qatar traffic department provides an online service to report traffic violations through Metrash2 mobile app. For example: If a person is driving a car recklessly or a car is parked in a prohibited area, you should report it.
