The Qatari citizens, GCC citizens and expat residents can register their mobile number with Qatar ID to receive important notifications from various government departments. For example: A reminder message for your Qatar ID Card expiry or driving license expiry.

The Ministry of Interior, Government of Qatar provides two easy ways for mobile number registration with Qatar ID.

In order to register your mobile number with Qatar ID online, please follow the simple steps mentioned below.

1. Open a web browser and go to MOI Qatar website @portal.moi.gov.qa.
2. Select Inquiries to open relevant page.
3. Select Metrash tab.
4. Click on Metrash for Individuals.
5. Enter your Qatar ID Number, Mobile Number and Date of Birth.
6. Select Arabic or English, your preferred language to receive alerts from the government.
7. Enter the Captcha Code and click on Subscribe.
8. Verify your mobile number with OTP to complete the registration process.

Metrash2 Mobile Number Registration with QID

The Ministry of Interior has launched Metrash2 App and added all its digital services in the app. You can register your mobile number with Qatar ID through the Metrash2 App but the steps are a bit different.

Get Metrash2 App for Android or iPhone/iPad or Huawei Mobile

1. Open Metrash2 App on your phone.
2. Select Registration/Sign Up option.
3. Enter your Qatar ID Number and click on Next.
4. Enter your Qatar ID Expiry Date and click on Next.
5. Select YES for the question “Are you sure your phone number is under your Qatar ID?”
6. Click on Send to send the registration SMS to 92992. If you have two SIM cards in your phone, make sure that you send the SMS from the mobile number you want to register with your Qatar ID.
7. You will receive an SMS containing Activation Code in two parts. Note down the activation code and get back to Metrash2 App.
8. Enter part 1 & 2 of Activation Code and Create PIN for login. Then click on Submit.
9. Enter PIN to login to Metrash2 App.
10. Accept Metrash2 Terms & Conditions to complete the registration process.

In this way, you can register your mobile number with your Qatar ID online at MOI web portal and also through the Metrash2 mobile application.

How to Change Registered Mobile Number with Qatar ID

The MOI Qatar provides change mobile number option for people who had registered their mobile number with QID earlier but now they want to change it.

At present you receive important alerts on your old mobile number, but now you want to receive the alerts on your new mobile number. If you want to change your registered mobile number with Qatar ID, you can do it online using the steps given below.

1. Go to MOI Inquiries Metrash for Individuals Page.
2. Enter your Qatar ID Number, Old Mobile Number and Date of Birth.
3. Select your preferred language as Arabic or English for receiving Alert SMS messages.
4. Enter the Captcha Code and click on Change Number.
5. Enter your New Mobile Number and verify with OTP.
6. Submit the OTP to confirm your action.

How to Deregister Mobile Number with Qatar ID

The MOI Metrash Service provides free SMS alerts to Qatari residents from various government offices. In case you don’t want to receive these alerts, you can deregister your mobile number with Qatar ID at MOI web portal.

1. Go to MOI Inquiries Metrash for Individuals Page.
2. Enter your Qatar ID Number, Mobile Number and Date of Birth.
3. Select the language as Arabic/English in which you are receiving alert messages.
4. Enter the Captcha Code and click on Unsubscribe.
5. Confirm your action to complete the deregistration process.

After 24 hours of finishing deregistration, you will stop receiving Metrash SMS alerts from the government.

How to Register Co-receiver Mobile Number with Qatar ID

The person who registers mobile number with Qatar ID, is known as the service owner. The service owner receives Metrash SMS alerts regularly on their registered mobile number and they can add a co-receiver to receive the same alert messages on another mobile number as well.

For example: You have registered your mobile number with QID and you are receiving the SMS alerts from all government offices. Now, you want to register your spouse’s mobile number as a co-receiver to receive the SMS alerts on her phone.

In order to register a co-receiver for MOI Metrash Service, kindly follow the step-by-step process given below;

1. Go to MOI Qatar website @portal.moi.gov.qa.
2. Select Inquiries and then click on Metrash tab.
3. Click on Metrash Secondary Subscription.
4. Select Service Owner in User Type.
5. Select Subscribe in Action Type.
6. Enter your QID Number, Mobile Number and Date of Birth.
7. Enter Co-receiver’s QID Number, Mobile Number and Date of Birth.
8. Enter the Captcha Code and click on Send.
9. Verify your request with OTP to complete the process.

After 24 hours of Secondary Receiver Registration, the Co-receiver will start receiving Metrash SMS alerts from the government offices. Now, both you (service owner) and your spouse (co-receiver) will receive important SMS alerts from the government on a regular basis.
